The Wine Tip is committed to protecting your privacy. At all times we aim to respect any personal information you share with us, or that we receive from others, and keep it safe.

Why do we collect personal information?

We use your personal information for several different reasons, which we set out below. 

• To register you as a candidate with WSET Awards and enable you to sit examinations for WSET qualifications.
• To administer and conduct your examination, including planning for reasonable adjustments and/or special considerations.
• To provide you with post-results services such as enquiries against results and appeals and solicit feedback from you on WSET qualifications.
• To send you information regarding the course or event for which you are registered (or which you have registered interest in).
• To process sales of products or services you have purchased from us.
• To verify your identity.
• To investigate any potential maladministration, malpractice or other non-compliance in connection with the delivery of WSET qualifications.

 What sort of information do we collect?

We require the collection of name(s), date of birth, gender, email address that will be passed to WSET for the purposes of examining and awarding WSET qualifications and collecting feedback from candidates.

Students personal information may also be transferred to WSET approved third parties, including course providers, examiners, suppliers (e.g. IT service provider), regulatory bodies (e.g. Of qual)

The wine Tip itself would also require postal address to ship your student material, and other optional information such as role, position and if whether you are working in the industry.

If students chose to disclose more sensitive information such as a health condition or other challenges that would justify a reasonable adjustment from our end, The Wine Tip would also be collecting these types of information. 

How is your data kept secure?

The Wine Tip, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) is responsible for protecting your personal information from theft, misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, which is done by storing all data in one place only, on a reputable third-party server and is password protected.

This data may be accessible by The Wine Tip employees only, but never copied, or stored anywhere else.

Data passed to WSET will be handled in accordance with WSET Privacy Policy.
